Dale Lee Shaw, 68, of Elkville, passed away at 2:30 A.M., Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his residence.
Dale had been a dozer operator at Consol #5 Mine. He retired after working at General Cable for twenty-five years. He was a member of the Elkville Baptist Church. Dale was a member of UMWA.
He was born February 16, 1952 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Gilbert and Lela M. (Martin) Shaw.
He married Barbara Lee Gunter on April 28, 1973 at Elkville, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Elkville, one daughter - Angie and husband Mike and their daughter - of Kirkwood, MO, one son - J. Shaw of Washington, DC and his children with S. of Carterville, one brother - K. Shaw of Carbondale, one sister - Linda of Elkville, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother - Herbie Shaw.
Per Dale’s request, cremation rites were accorded.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Interment will be in the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville, IL at a later date.
