Jose Luis Cantu, 89, entered in to eternal rest on Friday, September 11, 2020, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg, Texas. Jose was born on October 11, 1931, to Teresa Cavazos and Francisco Cantu in Mexico. He is Preceded in death by his parents Teresa and Francisco Cantu and his sister Arminda Cavazos. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Maria D. Cantu, children: Alberto Cantu (Claudia), Jose Luis Cantu Jr. (Maribel), Ivan Cantu, sister: Maria Cavazos and grandchildren; Albert Cantu, Carolina Cantu, Michael Cantu, and Anahi Cantu. Due to the current climate surrounding Covid -19, a limited visitation will take place on Wednesday September 16, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday September 17,2020 at 10 a.m. at Lord and I Cemetery in Palmview. All visitors to the funeral home and cemetery are encouraged to practice safe, social distancing and wear a mask/face covering. Funeral Services are under the direction of Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission.
