Funeral services for Ruth Johnson, 92, of Levelland will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at First United Methodist Church of Levelland with the Rev. Jesse Hodge, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home.
She died at 9:07 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Covenant Hospital in Levelland.
Born June 28, 1912 in Abilene, she moved to Levelland in 1938 from Odessa. She graduated from Ropes High School and attended Texas Tech for a year. She married Homer Johnson Nov. 3, 1934 in Tucumcari, N.M. She and her husband, co-owned Homer Johnson Oil Company. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Levelland and had served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years.
Survivors include her son, Jimmie Johnson and his wife Linda of Levelland; her daughter, Gay Johnson of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Jamie Noesen and her husband Glen of Plano, Justin Johnson of Lubbock, and Brittany Weaver and her husband Matt of Sweetwater; and two great-grandchildren, Kara Blakemore and Stefan Noesen.
