James D. Walter, 52, of Lima passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on November 6, 1968 in St. Marys to John and Mary (Gayheart) Walter, who both preceded him in death.

James was a member of MRDD, Goodwill Easter Seals and had volunteered for ACERT. He enjoyed bingo and collecting unicorns.

Surviving are his sister Connie Derr of Cridersville; his niece Shannon (Jordan) Davis; his nephews Corey Herzog and Justin Michael Lee; his great-nephews Kellen and Knox Davis.

He was preceded in death by his sister Mary (Alvie) Hertzog and his brother-in-law William Derr, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where a funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 PM.

Rev. Nathan Branim, will officiate the service.

Entombment will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marimor Industries or Easter Seals.
