Roland "Ron" Johnson, 88, of Findlay, died at 7:01 am on Monday, September 14, 2020 at The Heritage. He was born on November 19, 1931, in Flint, MI to the late Royal and Eva (Erickson) Johnson. He married Phyllis Carpenter on August 22, 1953, and she survives. Ron is also survived by his sons: Michael (Marcy Almaguer) Johnson of Atascadero, CA and Kenneth (Imelda Gorman) Johnson of Houston, TX; daughter, Lisa Place of Findlay; son-in-law, Terry Hammond of Fostoria; grandchildren: Adam (Julie), Bridget, Nick and Elizabeth; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Hammond; grandsons: Ian and Andrew; a brother, Larry Johnson. Ron retired from Atlas Crankshaft, where he was a Plant Engineer. He was a member of the West Independence United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 21, 2020 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be held 1 hour (10-11 am) prior to the service. Pastor Mark Weatherman will be officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
