Of Macon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Graveside services to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Barrett was born on May 17, 1935, in Byron, Georgia to the late E.L. and Ruby Stokes. She had a passion for cooking and owned a catering business for over 30 years. She also had a lengthy and honorable 36 years career with Bibb County Sherriff Department where she retired as a crossing guard for Heard Elementary. She was on school council and volunteered at Heard School where 6 generations of family attended. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling around the world and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Barrett was a member of New Elim Baptist Church and Daughters of the Nile.
Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her husband; Quinton Barrett as well as a daughter Lois Nan Barrett.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family. Daughter; Martha Underwood, grandchildren; Nicole Statham (Scott) and Tommy Underwood. Great grandchildren; Taylor Statham, Stephen Statham, Quinton Underwood, Will Underwood and Kyle Brooks (Maggie). As well as one great great grandchild; Katherine Brooks.
