Gregory A. Knight, age 59 of White Cloud, formerly of Rockford, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at his home following a short illness. Greg was born on May 30, 1961 in Santa Monica, California and later moved to the Rockford area. Greg grew up in California and had many lifelong friends from the area. Greg met and married Sherri Kaslow on December 20, 1990 in Rockford and then moved to the White Cloud area in 2014 from Rockford. Greg was an MRI Technician at Spectrum Health working at the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion in Grand Rapids and for the past 6 years at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Greg was a wonderful dad to his 2 sons and was very proud of them. He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed riding his Harley with his friend Scott Rogers; was fan of all sports and a Raiders football fan, loved his beagle, Buddy, and truly enjoyed making chicken noodle soup with his grandmother, Buszia.
Greg and Sherri also enjoyed riding quads, boating, long walks together, and living in their dream log home. He always had a sense of humor, was quick to respond with a joke, or create a nickname for everyone he met. Greg grew up in California and had many lifelong friends from the area. Many memories were made on frequent family houseboat trips to Lake Powell and catching striped bass. He loved helping others and would not hesitate to lend a hand to family or strangers. He was proud of his over 25 year career at Spectrum Health. Greg was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud and was a member of the White Cloud Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri “Bookums” Knight of White Cloud; his sons, Kaz (significant other, Molly Marx) Knight of Loveland, Colorado; Keegan (fiancé, Rachel Letters) Knight of Falls Church, Virginia; his father, Michael Knight of Simi Valley, California; his maternal grandmother, Helen “Buszia” Koscielniak of East Chicago, Indiana; his sisters, Karen (Scott) Soles of Naperville, Illinois; Laura (Rich Simmons) Knight of Santa Clarita, California; his brother, Patrick (Katrina) Knight of Nipomo, California; many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Knight; his maternal grandfather, Edward “Dzia Dzia” Koscielniak; paternal grandparents, Joe and Jean Knight.
