1860 US Census shows him as 4 years old with parents named Jose Gabriel Silva (deaf) and Malena (Magdalena) at dwelling #1208, family #1106 in town of Tome, Valencia County, New Mexico. Siblings also noted: Jose age 14, Tomas age 12, Candelaria age 10, Miguel age 8, Gabriel age 5, and Jose age 2. All the family born in New Mexico. He grew to be infamous gang leader of La Sociedad de Bandidos, a Ku Klux Klan like gang also known as the "White Caps" and the "Forty Bandits," which terrorized Las Vegas, New Mexico about 1879-1893. At the time, Las Vegas was the biggest town between San Francisco, California and Independence, Missouri - Thanks to the coming of the railroad. He was killed by his own gang, after stabbing his wife to death. He wasn't buried until two years later, in 1845, as his death went un-discovered by locals, as did his wife's, until then.
