June M. (Scarnegie) Coddens, 88, died unexpectedly on Friday April 7, 2017 at the Sunrise at Gardner Park facility in Peabody, following a brief illness.

Born in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Gertrude M. (Peabody) Scarnegie. She grew up in South Peabody and graduated with honors from Peabody High School, Class of 1946, and earned the George Peabody Merit Medal. She was passionately proud to say she lived her whole life in South Peabody.

Mrs. Coddens worked as an Executive Assistant at General Electric in Lynn for many years. Later she was a Machine Operator in Robotics prior to retiring 22 years ago.

June loved music and dance, and was involved with the Fabulous Foot Notes, a Senior Tap group. She enjoyed bowling in several leagues, liked golf, was a member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed watching football, especially the Patriots. She was a hard working woman, taking care of herself, nurturing her family, and caring for others. She will be dearly missed.
