Melva Elaine Cooper passed away on August 17, 2020. She was a resident of the Gove County Long Term Care in Quinter, KS. Melva was born July 7, 1929 to Horace and Hannah Jamison of Quinter, Kansas, 1 of 7 children. After graduating from Quinter High School, Melva was employed by AT&T as a switchboard telephone operator for several years. Melva married Ralph Cooper in October of 1967 and resided to the Cooper family farm in Grinnell, Kansas. They had one son, James Cooper, residing in New Cambria, Kansas.

Melva was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Hannah Jamison, husband Ralph Cooper, brothers Gerald Jamison, Harold Jamison, Carl Jamison, Dwight Jamison, Doyle James Jamison and sister Nola Conley.

Melva is survived by her son James Cooper, his wife Shanon Cooper and their daughter Becca Cooper.

Melva enjoyed her time outdoors in her vegetable garden and tending to her yard and many flowers planted around her house. She also enjoyed and cherished the time she spent with her granddaughter Becca.
