YORKTOWN - Evelyn Yvonne Carter Dillard entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Evelyn was born Oct. 23, 1938, in Grafton, Va. She was a longtime member of Zion Prospect Baptist Church, Yorktown, Va.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James E. Dillard Sr.; her six children, Ronald L. Dillard (Judy), Andre R. Dillard (Teressa), Denise Y. Watkins (Jeff), James E. Dillard, Jr., Stephanie D. Dillard (Sam), and Wendy K. Dillard; her three sisters, Deloris Dammons, Lorraine Wilson, and Bernice Fields; her eight grandchildren and a special family friend, Patricia Terrell.
A homegoing service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, in Zion Prospect Baptist Church, 408 Darby Road, Yorktown, Va., with the Rev. Walter C. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 306 Firby Road by 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Mrs. Dillard may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
