She was born June 9, 1942, in Austin, MN, the 3rd child of Melvin and Fern Halling Meyers. Spending her entire school career in LeRoy, Minnesota she enjoyed success being named Valedictorian of her graduating class.
She married Kenneth M. Dimler on August 13, 1960 and welcomed 3 children into their family in the next 4 years. Sadly, Kenny died in rural Northern Iowa on April 27, 1968. After this shocking event, with her 3 youngsters in tow, she circled her wagons and brought them back to LeRoy where The Village could surround the young family with support and direction.
The Dimler kids have thanked her every day for her strength and persistence in the face of such a devastating event.
She married Dale F. Ricks in Las Vegas on July 21, 1973 and moved to Hudson, Iowa. The new couple brought her last son to the family in 1974.
After all the kids flew the nest Pat and Dale put more time into supporting the local AMVETS in their civic endeavors. Pat’s natural kindness and patience were really on display at all events associated with the Auxiliary.
She embraced her life in Hudson - always offering kind words and very interested concern with friends or strangers.
