FAMILY SEARCH. When Douglas Lee Barber was born on 21 July 1944, in Spanish Fork, Utah, Utah, his father, Levi Urban Barber, was 49 and his mother, Myrtle Gale Stimpson, was 40. He died on 4 September 2007, in Provo, Utah, Utah, at the age of 63, and was buried in Spanish Fork City Cemetery, Spanish Fork, Utah.

PASSAGE. Completed his earthly life in Provo, Utah from complications of post-polio syndrome. Born in Spanish Fork, Utah. Son of Levi U. and Myrtle Stimpson Barber. Graduated from Spanish Fork High School and Seminary. Received an Associate Degree from Snow College. Married Susan Stone June 16, 1972 in Spanish Fork, Utah. Marriage solemnized in Provo LDS Temple August 1, 1974. Owned and operated Western States Insurance for 28 years. Active member of the community serving as a charter member of the Spanish Fork Ambulance, member of the Rotary Club and Spanish Fork Kiwanis Club. Served on the Spanish Fork Planning Commission and chaired the Fiesta Days for many years. Friend to all. Known for his exemplary service to others. Enjoyed golf, supported BYU and enjoyed Saturday projects with his family. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in BYU Singles Ward Bishopric, Spanish Fork 5th Ward Bishop and Hales Rest Home Bishopric. Served a LDS mission to Southern California. A valiant example to those who knew him.

Survived by wife Susan; his children: Matt Barber and his wife Rochelle Evans, Kathleen and husband Trent Beardall, Shantelle and husband, J. Craig Martinez, and D.J. Barber; 9 grandchildren; brother John Keith Barber; and sister, Joan Barber James. Predeceased by parents, two brothers and two sisters.
