Mr. Salvatore "Sam" Aceto, age 59, a native Utican and currently of New York City, passed away unexpectedly while traveling on business on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at St. Anthony's Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri. Born in Utica on April 12, 1948, Sam is the son of Jane (DiBenedetto) Aceto and the late Anthony "Tony" Aceto. Raised and educated locally, he was a graduate of T. R. Proctor High School and pursued his studies at M.V.C.C. earning an Associate's Degree in Accounting. Sam had aspired to the position of National Director of Claims at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and United Health Care. He joined Price Waterhouse Coopers in 1999 where he was the manager in the Healthcare Consulting Claims Audit practice in the NY Metro office. Sam is best remembered as a good family man who was supportive and devoted especially to his sons. Sam is survived by his sons, Ryan L. Aceto, of Florida, and Paul C. Aceto, of Colorado; his mother, Jane Aceto, of Chadwicks; his former wife and mother of his children, Maureen Long Aceto; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Edward Szczygiel, of Chadwicks, and Angela and Tom Mikalajunas, of New Hartford; his brother, Anthony Aceto, and his sister-in-law, Carol Aceto both of Utica. Also surviving are several aunts including Fannie Conte and Doneta Aceto, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Sam also leaves his dear and loyal friends, especially Steven Toolan, Gene and Mary Theresa Quadraro, and Linda Knight, as well as his many other cherished friendships. The family wishes to thank Sam's employer Price Waterhouse Coopers for their support and generosity at this difficult time. Visitation will be held Friday (today) from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sam's Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9:30 at St. Agnes Church. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
