Owen Ralph Henry, 75, of Clay City, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2007, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Mr. Henry was born October 10, 1931, in Crawford County, the son of Ralph and Edna (Harmon) Henry. He married Earlene Barrett Henry on November 30, 1952, at Zif Baptist Church in Wayne County. She survives.

He was retired from the Clay City Post Office. He was also a retired farmer. He was a member and teacher at Zif Baptist Church. He was a Korean War veteran, past president of the Clay County Farm Bureau, 4-H leader and Mason for 50 years, member of the Anthony Dorthery #1111 in Cisne, past president of the Clay County Shrine and Widgets, secretary and treasurer for Widgets, Clay County Citizen of the Year in 2000, member of the Clay City American Legion, Week-enders Camping Group, 32nd degree Shriner and Sod Busters. He was also a John Deere collector and graduated from Clay City High School in 1949.

Mr. Henry is survived by his wife, Earlene (Barrett) Henry; son, Kevin Henry and his wife, Jana; daughter, Beth D. (Henry) Wilson and her husband, Keith; son, Kent E. Henry and his wife, Paula; grandchildren, Brandon Henry, Bryce Henry, Jessica Richardson, Heith Wilson, Kindra Henry and Trent Henry; step-grandchildren, Lindsay Clark and Landon Byrd; sister, Helen Hosselton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Yates.

A Masonic service was held at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held at the funeral home with Bro. Jimmie Thomas officiating.

Burial with military rites was at Zif Cemetery in Wayne County.

In lieu of flowers, memorials were made to Shriners Children's Hospital or Zif Baptist Church.
