HIGH POINT – Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Lane was welcomed to spend eternity with our Lord and Saviour on Sept. 11, 2020. She endured an extended amount of years of declining health and a brief hospital stay and palliative care at Hospice in High Point. Sarah, who friends and family knowingly called “Boot” or “Liz”, was born on June 2, 1943 in Cheraw, SC where she attended public school.

Sarah was the daughter of the late Claude Powe Sr. and Marie M. Powe. Two brothers preceded her in death, Charles B. Powe and Claude Powe Jr.

Sarah will be truly missed by her special beloved and dedicated daughter, Gloria Lane and son, Charles A. Lane, both of High Point and grandson, Camari J. Lane, who brought an immeasurable amount of joy to her life. Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Josehus M. Powe, David W. Powe and a sister, Linda Powe; a caring uncle, Theodore Mack and aunt, Ms. Cleo Smith, who are instrumental in providing a wealth of wisdom to the family structure second to none; loving nieces and nephews; Tammy Powe, Lynn Powe, Demetrius Powe, Afreida Hogan (Keith Hogan), Dvonda Barnes and Vanicia Bright; many friends and acquaintances; and a devoted and longtime friend, Gladys Sellers.

A private funeral service will be held, Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Lane may be viewed on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
