Bessie LaRue Cleaver, age 77 of Paris, TN, died Friday, September 11, 2020, at AHC of McKenzie.

She was a former employee of Plumley Rubber Company. Bessie enjoyed quilting and attended Temple Baptist Church in Paris.

Bessie was born April 6, 1943, in Paris, TN, to the late Bill Boyd and the late Mary Ellen Merrell Boyd.

She is survived by a son, James Cleaver of Puryear, TN; two brothers, Jimmy L. Boyd of Chicago, IL, and Jerry F. Boyd of Paris, TN; three grandchildren, James Cleaver, IV, Matthew Cleaver and Tiffany Smith; and two great grandchildren, Matthew Smith and Destiny Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, John E. Cleaver; one sister, Jenea Sue Meals; and two brothers, Charles D. Boyd and Billy Boyd.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Monday, September 14, 2020, from 9:00 am – 10:30 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 14, 2020, at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, TN, with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
