Patricia J. Leonard passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at her home in East Grand Forks, MN.

Pat was born January 26, 1942 in Hazen, ND the daughter of Harold and Viola (White) McBride. She attended school in Beulah, ND until 6th grade when she moved to Williston, ND with her family. She graduated from Williston High School in 1960 as Valedictorian of her class. She attended UND receiving a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Education in 1964. She was active in Pi Beta Phi Sorority and United Campus Christian Fellowship. She taught in Langdon, ND. She married Don Leonard on July 12, 1965 in Williston, ND. Thereafter she brought joy and stability to his life while he finished law school and served in active duty in the US Army. She taught in Alvarado, MN, Wappingers Falls, NY and Williston, ND.

Pat and Don settled in East Grand Forks where she taught home economics and then served as food service supervisor for many years. Pat served on the session of Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, president of Mendenhall’s United Presbyterian Women. She was also on the board of East Grand Forks Arts and Crafts Council. She enjoyed sewing, quilting with the UPW ladies, meetings and association with fellow Minnesota food service supervisors, traveling with Don to Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska and the world’s fair in Montreal. Pat and Don wintered in Palm Springs, CA for the past few years. Most of all Pat enjoyed her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Don and daughter Catherine “Cit” Leonard both of East Grand Forks, sons, Douglas (Corrine) in Blaine, MN, and Mark (Jill) in Beaumont, CA, 7 grandchildren, and brother Russell McBride of Slayton, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Beverly Penn and brother Thomas McBride.
