James Donald Fitzsimmons ("Fitz") 71, of Friendswood Texas passed away August 19, 2020.

Fitz was born in Columbus Ohio on February 5, 1949 to Betty Mayer Felicia Fitzsimmons and Donald Fitzsimmons, who preceded him in death.

His sister Janet F. Temple also preceded him in death.

He was raised in Columbus, Ohio and Graduated from Walnut High School in 1967 where he was captain of the cross-country ski team.

Then went off to Ohio State and moved to California (Hermosa Beach) before enlisting in the Army. He went to the Vietnam War in 1969 where he delivered mail and did accounting work. He returned to the states where he pursued a career in the car business for the next 40+ years in Houston Texas. He opened a wholesale car business Cars by Fitz in 1991 where he worked until his last days. While working in the car business he met and married Karen Ann Harbour in 1980.

He is survived by his ex-wife and 2 sons, Karen H. Fitzsimmons, James D. Fitzsimmons, II (37) his wife Chrissy Burns, and John H. Fitzsimmons (34). "Paw Paw" will be sorely missed by his 2 grandchildren, James D. Fitzsimmons, III and Lila Rose Fitzsimmons and many other relatives and cherished friends.

Fitz had a lifelong love for having a good time. His love of riding motorcycles never faded. He loved a good live concert or album. He spent a lot of time on the Golf Course in his 40's and 50's. Jim was famous for loving life and making the best of all life had to offer him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546 (281) 992-7200 with Deacon Chuck Turner officiating
