Robert “Bob” Luther Winkler, Sr., age 84 of Sevierville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14, 2020. He was born on April 13, 1936 in Lenoir, NC. Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Wesleyan Sunday School Class. He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Reserves. Bob formerly lived in Memphis, TN for many years before he and his wife moved to Sevierville. He was employed by Kroger in Pigeon Forge and known to some as “Grocery Bob”. Bob loved spending time and working out in his yard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Winkler and his parents, Luther E. and Nell M. Winkler.
His survivors include Son: Robert Winkler, Jr.; Daughter: Cynthia Davis and husband Dr. Mark Davis; Grandsons: Jeffery W. Davis (Heather) and children Caleb, Andrew and Mia; Jonathan M. Davis (Jeanne) and children Jackson, Isaiah and Charlotte; Joseph A. Davis (Tamara) and daughter Kenzie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church building fund, 214 Cedar Street, Sevierville, TN 37862 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or Holston Home for Children, 9600 E Hill Ave., #270, Knoxville, TN 37915.
Although there will not be a receiving line, friends may pay their respects 2 PM – 3 PM Friday, September 18 followed by a funeral service at 3 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Lambert and Dr. Mark Davis will officiate. We will be live streaming on our "AFH Sevierville" YouTube channel. The live stream will start at 2:50 PM and viewers can access this by our channel or by the direct live stream link we will be providing on our Facebook page 10 minutes prior to the start of the service. Face covering and social distancing will be maintained.
