Funeral services for Sara Frances Ivy will begin at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Christian Center of Mesquite with Pastor Kevin Lough officiating. Interment in Laurel Oaks Memorial Park will follow. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Sara Frances Ussery was born on Monday, September 19, 1927, in Elmo, Texas, to John Gilmer Ussery and Oma Olene Ussery. She was married to Jessie Rabe, Johnny Ray for over fifty years and to Loyd Franklin Ivy for almost seventeen years. Sara went to be with the Lord at age 92 on Saturday, September 12, 2020, in Mesquite, Texas.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Jessie Ray Rabe; her husband, John William Ray; her daughters Clara Ray Riggs and Marie Olene Goode; her son, Gilmer Ray Rabe; her grandson, Jeffery Gonzales; and her great-granddaughter, Misty Riggs.

Sara is survived by: her husband, Loyd Franklin Ivy; her son, Danny (Dolores) Ray; her son-in-law, Dick Riggs; her daughters Vickie (Don) Becker and Christie Gonzales; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a few great-great-grandchildren.

Sara will be remembered for her love of God and her church. She will also be remembered as a great cook (especially fried pies) and for playing games of all kinds. Sara loved baseball, football, volleyball and bowling as well as going fishing. In her younger years, Sara loved sewing dresses and making doll clothes. Most of all, she loved her family, animals of all kinds and being a mother. Sara’s faith was strong, her laugh infectious and her love unconditional.
