Mary Louise Foster Hudgins passed away September 13, 2020.

Mary was born August 27, 1930 in Erwin, Tennessee (Unicoi County).

Her mother, Marietta Howell Foster died in October of 1930. Her father, Mr. William Foster, already had a lot of children and was now a single man trying to care for a young baby. Marietta’s sisters thought it would be a good idea if their sister, Vestie “Queenie” Howell Wheeler and her husband, the Reverend Charles Wheeler would raise young Mary being that the Wheelers could not have children of their own. Mary was raised in Black Mountain North Carolina on the old toll road.

In 1946 young Mary married a veteran of World War II, Joseph John Tarrin, of Los Angeles. From that marriage, she gave birth to 3 children Geraldine Louise Becker, James Robert Tarrin and Carolyn J Tarrin. Mary’s husband, Joseph died at an early age as well as her son, James Robert Tarrin.

She married a second time to U. S. Army Veteran of the Korea War, Mr. Hilary Eugene Hudgins of Bon Aqua Tennesse. Mary and Hilary had 5 children, James Ricky Hudgins, Rhonda Katheline Reitzloff, James Michael “Mike” Hudgins, Curtis Dewayne Hudgins, and Dennis Kevin Hudgins. Mr. Hudgins preceded Mary in death.

Mary is survived by her children, Geraldine (Walt) Boggs, Carolyn Tarrin, Ricky Hudgins, Rhonda Reitzloff, Mike (Shelly) Hudgins, Curt (Angel) Hudgins, Dennis Hudgins. Momma Mary also left a host of nieces and nephews, inlaws, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren from California, Nevada, Michigan and Tennessee.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Tidwell officiating. Place of rest will be in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Bon Aqua, TN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
