She was born December 25, 1961 in Troy, South Carolina to Janie Calhoun and the late Joel Calhoun. She attended Greenwood School Systems and was a member of New China Baptist Church in Troy, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by one son, Travis Robinson; two sisters, Mildred Ann Timpson and Magalene Dunlap.
Gladys Robinson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who leaves behind her husband, Hiriam Robinson, Sr., three sons, Hiriam Robinson, Jr., Demarcus Robinson and Shavis Robinson; three daughters, Cheral Robinson, Ashley (Kurtis) Robinson and Latisia (Richard) Gilchrist all of Greenwood, South Carolina; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; five brothers, Brian (Diane) Calhoun, Joel (Loretta) Calhoun, Benjamin (Bobby) Calhoun, Jessie Calhoun and James Calhoun; three sisters, Angela (Sindey) Boozer, Mabel Drennon and Cynthia Martin; She will also be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Reverend Benita Goode, officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in New China Baptist Church Cemetery in Troy, South Carolina.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Young, Demarcus Dunlap, Demarcus Conner, Antonio Covington, Jamar Smith and Shaun Covington. Flower Bearers will be Shay Stevens, Tara Carroll, Tasha Daye, Michavis Gray, Erica Covington and Shirley Covington
