Janette Navona Smith born December 26, 1956 in Silver City, NM passed away September 13, 2020, in Safford, AZ.

Janette loved Jesus with all her heart and loved going to Church services and singing gospel songs. She asked everyone she met for a picture of themselves so she could pray for them. Her favorite hobby was needlepoint and made coasters and crosses for family and friends. She was special to a lot of people. She got such joy out of the “little” things in life.

She attended a special school for handicapped children in Tucson and later Lordsburg. Her parents took care of her at home until 2010, since then she has resided at Sunshine Haven in Lordsburg until it closed July 2019, then she moved to nursing home in Haven of Safford in Safford, AZ.

She is survived by her sister and brother in law., Johnell and Jeffrey Getz of Albuquerque, NM. Also two nephews Kristofer and Pamela Hayward of Colorado Springs, CO and Joshua Hayward of Trinidad, CO. She was a proud Great Aunt to Madysen and Ryan Hayward. She also had numerous cousins, two cousins she was extremely close to are Clark and Dora Smith, who were her Legal Guardians for the last 6 years. She has been reunited with her parents in Heaven, John O and Jessie Nell Smith.

Services will be held at Lordsburg Assembly of God on Saturday the 19th of September at 10 am, followed by graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clark Smith Jr., Ezekiel Smith, W.O. Fallis, Clark Smith, Russell Fallis and Nick Camacho.
