Edward Franklin Dotson, 76 of West Union departed this life on Saturday, September 12, 2020 in Genesis Health Care Center, Salem. He was born on February 4, 1944 in Doddridge County the son of the late Earl Frederick Dotson and Lena Grimm Dotson. He was preceded in death by his wife Kay F. Dotson. Surviving are one daughter, Teresa Dotson and husband Donnie Jr. West Union, one son, John Wesley Carder, Pennsboro, 8 grandchildren, one brother, Loren Dotson, Smithburg and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Frederick, Paul, Russel, Marvin and Donald Dotson, two sisters, Martha Colthar and Betty Mae Smith. Eddie had been employed by McGill's Inc. as a mechanic and auto body repairman with over 20 years service. He enjoyed car racing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. A memorial service will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, Front St. West Union on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment will follow in the Randolph Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel after 11 a.m. until time of service.
