Graveside services for Ms. Joy M. Wilson, age 84, will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 11, 2020, at the Spring Branch Cemetery, Taylor, AR, with Rev. Wayne Raines officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA. Due to the COVID regulations, masks will be expected to be worn.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel.
Ms. Wilson was born on December 16, 1935 to George Desmond and Verdell Burns Toms in Taylor, AR and passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 in Sarepta, LA. Mrs. Wilson followed her mother in sewing for the public for many years. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, gardening , making jelly and canning.
She is survived by her children, Hugh Wilson, Jr., and wife, Rene of Columbus, MS; Kathryn Harris of Taylor, AR; husband, Aaron "Pete" Lewis, Sr., of Sarepta, LA; step-children, Aaron Lewis, Jr. of Springhill, LA; Freda Kiley, and husband, Lance of Houma, LA; four grandchildren, Chris Wilson, Lisa Carter, Jay Wilson, and Thomas Lewis; and three great-grandchildren.
Ms. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh Corbin Wilson, Sr., brothers, W. L. Toms and Melvin Toms, a granddaughter, Jennifer Harris and a great-grandson, Dakota Shane Harris.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Martin, Jared Vollmer, Brandon Vollmer, Jason Vollmer, Brett Vollmer, Chris Maness and Thomas Lewis.
