Bernard Odell Beck, 93, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007.
Memorial service: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Ashes buried in Zephyr Cemetery, Zephyr, Brown County, TX.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mission Arlington or a charity of choice.
Bernard was born in Manilla, Iowa, and grew up in the farming community of Big Springs, S.D., and moved to Arlington in 1956. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He owned his own business where he designed and manufactured physics lab equipment for colleges and universities. He graduated from Yankton College in Yankton, S.D. He and his wife loved to travel around the country visiting the various colleges and universities. He was a pioneering member of the American Model Airplane Association and had a love for aircraft design. He served for five years in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Bernard loved his work and only retired a few short years ago at the age of 88. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors: Loving wife of 64 years, Adalene Beck; children, Dennis Beck, Barbara Brown and husband, Ron, and Bill Beck and wife, Jeanette; grandchildren, Jason Brown and wife, Angela, Darin Brown and wife, Jill, Jessica Beck, Ashley Sheahan and husband, Tim, and Amanda Beck; and great-grandchildren, Hailey Beck and Devan Beck.
