Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl B Firkins, 88, of Dows were held Friday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church and burial was in Fairview Cemetery. The Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Firkins died Tuesday at Golden Acres Manor in Dows where she had been a patient since September.

She was born near Meservey on December 20, 1885, the daughter of Morris and Mary Young Brogan. In 1907 she was married to Harry Firkins at Meservey. In 1929 they came to Dows where he was a barber and operated a pool hall. Mr. Firkins died in 1939 and she continued to operate the business for several years.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters: Kenneth of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Faye of Bradenton, Florida; Mrs. R.M. (Doris) Hughes of Clear Lake and Mrs. Marjorie Williams of Elkhart, Kansas. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Fern Greene of Dows, Mrs. Cora Rosburg and Forest Brogan of St. James, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Dows.
