Larry R. Hamby Sr., 52. Letter Carrier for the USPS and member of the NALC-Buckeye Branch 78, Columbus, Ohio with 25 years of service, and veteran having served in the U.S. Army, departed this life Monday, March 21, 2011. Raised in Memphis, TN by Auldin and Deloris Hamby, along with his siblings, "Butch" Hamby of Lexington, KY, Cathy Goodwin, Sandy Miller, Randy Hamby, and Donald Hamby, all of Memphis, TN. Survived by wife, Rachel (Fraley) Hamby of Pataskala, Ohio; and children, Reed and Sarah Hamby of AR, as well as Sarah Harsh, Nathan Fooce; and his precious granddaughter, Alexis Gilkerson of Madison County, Ohio; father, Auldin Hamby Sr. of Memphis, TN; and his constant companion, Todd Davis of Pickerington Ohio; and several other dear friends as well. Preceded in death by his beloved mother and brother Deloris and Randy Hamby, and niece Tracy Goodwin. Larry was a SOUTHERN gentleman full of grace, who embodied old school values, coupled with manners unmatched by few. Gracious always, forgiving endlessly, and tireless in all his endeavors, which usually were endeavors serving others. He was a gift to so very many and served as a daily reminder to everyone, of what genuine integrity looked like! A celebration of Larry's Life will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME, (740) 852-2345, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140 with Robert Keith Cartwright officiating.
