CROW AGENCY - Wesley Old Elk, 37, of Crow Agency, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in the Billings St. Vincent Healthcare.

Aluutechia "White Arrow" was born April 23, 1966, in Crow Agency, a son of George Old Elk, Jr. and Pansy Dawes. He grew up in the Crow Agency area and attended schools in Crow Agency, St. Xavier, Hardin and Richland, Wash. Following his education, he worked on the Crow Reservation for the Abandon Mine Lands Program, the National Park Service, the BIA Forestry as a seasonal fire fighter and most recently as a fencing crew member for the Holding Ranch.

He was a member of the Pentecostal church, Whistling Water Clan and a child of the Big Lodge Clan. He was an intelligent, down-to-earth, artistic, thoughtful son, husband, father, brother and friend.

Two sisters, Fairalee and Roberta; a niece, Jazmin; nephews, Todd, Allan and DeAllen, preceded Wesley in death.

Survivors include his mother, Pansy Dawes of Crow Agency; his father, George "Chood" (Diane) Old Elk, Jr. of Lodge Grass; his wife, Pauline Espinoza of Hardin; his daughter, Jamie and his son, Aaron Old Elk of Hardin; four sisters, Crystal (Levi) Little Light, Janet (Shobe) Little Light, Georgianna and Chelsey Old Elk; his brothers, George "Porgey" (Gloria) Old Elk, Lyndon (DeWanda) Old Elk, Lyle Old Elk and Garlon (Garla) Williamson, Jr.; his half-sisters, Amy (Tom) Yellowtail, Twila (Howard) Old Chief, Julane Old Elk and Shannon (Kyle) Rauth; his half-brother, Esley Old Elk; and his uncles and aunts, Dan (Carlene), Andrew (Janet), Johnny (Karen), Clayton (Georgina), Walter (Colleen) and Larry (Carol) Old Elk, Dora Rides Horse, Elsie (Melvin) Pretty Paint, Claude (Marvella) Dawes, Jr. and Gwendlyn (Larry) Plain Bull; his grandmothers, Evelyn Old Elk, Annie Costa and Henrietta Pretty on Top; an adopted sister, Janie Delp; as well as members of the Moccasin family.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Crow Agency Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
