Belva Marie Winn, 72, of Marlinton, died Wednesday, July 24, 1996, at Roanoke Community Hospital. Born at Iaeger, W.Va., on May 3, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James Tolbie “Doc” Thomas and Martha Sylvania Roberts Thomas.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Survivors: husband, Irvin Winn; one daughter, Sharon Winn of Natural Bridge, Va.; three brothers, James Thomas, Jr. of Hillsboro, W.Va., Arnold Thomas of Davin, W.Va., and Frankie Thomas of Vansant, Va.; two sisters, Thelma Stover of Elkhart, Ind., and Kathleen Turner of Iaeger; two grandchildren, Greg Bowman of Natural Bridge Station and Ronnie Bowman of Buena Vista, Va.; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with the Rev. Bill Deskins officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Vanreenen Funeral Home, Marlinton, and from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Woodlawn Mausoleum. The family requests no flowers.
