He was a native of Austin, Texas and long time resident of Brewton, Alabama. Mr. Downing attended T.R. Miller High School and graduated from Richardson High School, Richardson, Texas. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Brewton, He was an Auto Mechanic, and Gun Smith.
