Mr. Earl Phillip Newton, age 77, of Shepherdsville returned to his Heavenly Father on September 12, 2020. Mr. Newton was born on March 17, 1943 in Owenton, KY to the late William and Hazel (Wheeler) Newton. Mr. Newton was a mechanic for the IMI Company and a member of Fairdale United Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, sister, Margaret Helsley; brother, Eugene Newton; and great-grandson, Draven Hughes.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Ruby (Jessie) Newton; children, Karen Potts, Sharon Sego, Jeffrey Scott Newton (Christy) and Cathy Delk (Kevin); grandchildren, Tabitha, Kayla, Lane, Travis, Hannah and Jet; great-grandchildren, Destinee, Demetrius, Gabriel, Isaiah, Liam and Everlee; and sister, Mary Rich.

Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Saturday, September 19, 2020 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Lone Hill United Baptist Church Cemetery.
