Georgia M. Allen, 92, of Columbia, died Sunday, September 6, 2020. Born May 7, 1928, in Florence, SC, she was the daughter of the late George and Mae McLendon Allen. Ms. Allen grew up in Hookerton, NC, an only child of a hard-working farming family. As an adult she spent most of her life in Kinston, NC. While living in Kinston, she was a loyal and dedicated volunteer at Lenoir Community Hospital.

Several years ago, Ms. Allen moved to Columbia to reside with her cousin, Lindsey Dene Moore who affectionately called her "Mae Mae." Ms. Allen is survived by Lindsey, and her husband, David as well as their children, Hampton and Asher Moore. These precious boys filled Mae Mae's life with abundant light, laughter, and love in her waning years while she served as a surrogate grandmother for them on their mother's side of the family. Ms. Allen is also survived by additional cousins residing throughout the Carolinas.
