On September 8, 2020 Jesus called Nancy Phillps home and she answered immediately. She was born July 31, 1939 to J.D. and Margie Murray in Childress, Texas.

Nancy graduated from Hart High School in 1957. She married J.P. Nafzger and they raised their children, son Jeff and daughter Pam, on the farm south of Olton. When her children were in Elementary school she attended WT and earned her teaching degree, and she served 25 years in education at Olton ISD. Throughout her life Nancy always loved to learn and was an avid reader. In 1982 she married Monte Phillips and gained three bonus children, Monica, Michelle and Hoby. Nancy and Monte loved to travel the world, seeing such places as Scotland, Germany, and Hawaii, and enjoyed traveling the continental United States in their RV, especially going camping in the mountains. In 1996 LBJ called them into semi-retirement and they enjoyed their life living in the Hill Country, until they moved back to Levelland. In 2012, Nancy lost her love, Monte, in an automobile accident. In 2018 Jesus reaffirmed his love in a gentle way, and Nancy decided to be baptized in an intimate service at Wedgewood.

She is survived by a son, Jeffery Nafzger and wife Debbie of Nashville, TN; three daughters, Pam McFadden of Lubbock, Monica McGee and husband Jim of Littlefield and Michelle Macha and husband Jay of Levelland; nine grandchildren, Erin Swann and husband Jason of Plains, Lindi Tucker and husband Taylor of Lubbock, Stephanie Medina and husband Kalven of Kansas City, MO, Benjamen Nafzger of Chattanooga, TN, Sam Nafzger of Nashville, TN, Dalton Phillips, USAF stationed in Idaho, Ashton Macha of Levelland, Taylor Phillips of Levelland, and Devan Macha of Levelland; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Cordell of Plano, TX; and lifetime friend Georgana Nafzger. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, J.P Nafzger and Monte Phillips and son, Hoby Phillips.

The family would like to say a special ‘thank you’ to her caregivers at Wedgewood South since 2016, and Beyond Faith Hospice the last few months.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Hart Cemetery with Jay Macha officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Southwest Parkinsons Society, at SWparkinson.org (806-725-0941). Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
