Mrs. Cecilia Carter, of Beaumont, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at her home. A native of Carencro, Louisiana, she was a resident of Beaumont, Texas for 75 years and was self-employed as a Beautician. She was a lifelong and devout member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lecturer. She was a member of the Church Choir, the Diocesan Choir, the Sick Committee, the Bazaar Committee, the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, and Ladies of Grace, the Drexel Society, the Holy Name Sodality, and the Saint Joseph’s Society.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with 8 a.m. until service time. Rev. Paul Ngozichukwu Ofoha, M.S.P. will officiate. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.

Cecilia is preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Carter; one daughter, Luwesta Ann Simien; and daughter-in-law, Eva Carter.

Survivors include: her son, James Carter; grandchildren, Tiffany Carter, Humble, Texas, James Simien (Dorothy) of Memphis, Tennessee, Debra Milton, Temple, Texas, Therry Simien, Austin, Texas, Charles Dumas (Camille), Houston, Texas; six great grandchildren; one great-grandchild; devoted relatives, niece, Anne Marie Ebow, Beaumont, Texas; cousins, Nelson Charles (Bobbi), Beaumont, Texas; nephew, Louis Malbrough (Gail), Lake Charles, Louisiana; and a host of loving and devoted family and friends.
