Dr. Garrison was a founding member of Emergency Medicine Specialists, Inc. and for more than 30 years a dedicated emergency physician. He served as Medical Director of the Good Samaritan Hospital Emergency Department for over 20 years.
He was an Associate Professor of Aerospace Medicine at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and a proud member of the Ohio National Guard serving in the 180th Medical Group, Toledo, OH.
Dick was an avid aviator. He was a commercial pilot and flight instructor, flying single and multi-engine airplanes, helicopters, and gliders. He enjoyed traveling and had many friends around the world. His greatest enjoyment was time spent with friends at Moraine Air Park, family and his beloved grandson, Luke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harriet Kirshner Garrison and James Orlando Garrison. He is survived by his fiancé, Elizabeth Riley; sons, Graham Garrison (Emily) and Alexander Garrison: sisters, Carol Kern (Norman) and Jane Garrison; brother, Jim Garrison (Lesli); niece, Kathryn Garrison; nephew, Matthew Garrison (Rachel); great-nieces, Callie and Emma Garrison; nephew, Brian Kern; great-nephew, Liam Kern; mother of his sons, Eleni Prieto.
Family will greet friends from 12-2pm on Saturday, August 10 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St, Centerville. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:30 with Military Honors. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
