Charlie Brown, 93, of Peru, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Powell County, Kentucky on July 20, 1927 to Isaac and Verna (Rupe) Brown. He married Loreda (Wireman) Brown, and she survives. Charlie retired as a factory worker from Amtrol Corp. He was a member of the Bible Holiness Church in Logansport.
Charlie was a loving husband and father. His family was always a priority. He was always doing for and giving to others, accepting nothing in return. He was a great gardener. If he had spare time, he enjoyed auctions and yard sales.
He is survived by his wife, as well as his children, Anita Harman and Helen Hay, both of Logansport; as well as one grandson Steven (Katie) Hay of New Castle; and two great-grandchildren, Edison Charles Hay and Annabelle Jane Hay. Also surviving are brother Aulney Brown of Washington state, and sister Nannie Smith of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Dorsey Brown, Oscar Brown, Elmer Brown, Henry Brown, Raymond Brown, and Otha Brown; and sisters Gladys Briggs, Lillie Yocum, and Golda Taylor. He was also preceded in death by an infant baby sister.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, with Rev. Mark Hamaker officiating.
