He was born on August 20, 1942, in Anderson, the son of Ward and Mary (Shipley) Haynes Jackson.
He worked in skilled trades at Delco Remy for 36 years. He attended Elm Grove Christian Church, was a member of UAW 662, loved sprint and midget car racing, animals, country and gospel music and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Wauneatti (Hunt) Haynes of Daleville; three children, Guy (Teri) Haynes of Daleville, Todd Haynes of Anderson, and Joe (Dawn) Haynes of Kokomo; 10 grandchildren, Dustin, Amber, Ashley, Rayona, Jackson, Caitlin, Joey, Olivia, Jacob and Brandon; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Haynes of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and stepfather, Joseph Jackson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Mike Whiteman officiating. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Alexandria.
