Earl Claiborne Bennett, Sr., age 87 of Saucier, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020.

He was a Gunnery Sgt. In the U.S. Marine Corp, and retired after 20 years. He then became a Merchant Marine as a Boat Captain.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Edith Robicheaux Bennet; his wife, Diane Hilda Bennett; his sons, Alden Phillip Doyle Bennett and Lawrence Bennett; and his brother, Carl Bennett.

He is survived by his daughters, Catherine Bennett Lane (David), Edith Bennett Lane (Steve), and Rene Bennett Archer (John); his sons, Earl Bennett, Jr. (Denise) and Brian Bennett; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; his sister, Merle Brennan; and his stepbrother, Bill Bailey.

Earl enjoyed boating, vegetable gardening (especially canning his vegetables), deer hunting, fishing, catfishing, and loved shrimping.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 141 Hwy 90, Waveland, with a visitation from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow at Pearlington Cemetery.
