Wayne Turner was born Jan. 24,1927, to Bennie Hugh and Leona (Genn) Turner who lived on a farm near Waxahachie, Texas. He attended public school in Waxahachie and after graduation from High School in 1944 joined the U.S. Navy on March 28, 1945, shortly before the end of WWll and was Honorably Discharged on July 18, 1946, as Seaman First Class.

Soon thereafter he attended Arlington State College and then went to work at Convair, an aircraft builder, located in Fort Worth. His employment continued in the aircraft business until he retired from Vought Air Craft in 1988. Joe served on the Board of Directors of Enloe State Bank in Enloe, Texas for 30 plus years.

He was married to LaVerne (Erickson) Dube. Joe was a member of the Hemphill Church of Christ in Fort Worth the last 65 plus years. He was a kind and considerate person, who readily made friends wherever he went and exemplified his Christian values throughout his life.

Fishing was Joe's favorite hobby and spent many hours pursuing fish.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bennie; and first wife, Hibernia.

Survivors: Second wife, LaVerne; nephews, Wayne and Dennis Turner and their wives, children, and grandchildren.
