He was a 1964 graduate of University of Maine, Orono and later received his Master's Degree from George Washington University. He received his Eagle Scout at 16 years and was always proud of that honor.
A Captain in the Army, he served 7 years stationed in Germany and Vietnam and was always connected to NSA throughout his military career. Darrell achieved many accolades in the service: The Bronze Star, the Joint Service Commendation Award, and was Airborne qualified. He worked tirelessly with a Vietnamese orphanage while serving there.
Darrell was a very active member of First Church Nashua for many years and served on several boards and committees. He cherished his First Church family. He was a Director of Medicare/Medicaid in New England for 30 years in the Boston office. After his retirement he advised many people on Medicare issues. He also made it a mission to help many Veterans get their VA benefits due them. Darrell enjoyed helping people wherever and whenever he could.
His wife always said "his middle name was help" and told him she would put "YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE" on his headstone.
Family members include (removed for privacy). Darrell is predeceased by his parents, his only sibling and younger brother Dale, two infant children and infant grandchild Owen.
