William (Bill) Ray Hancock, 69, of Cecil, Arkansas died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for various construction companies and was of the Christian Faith. He was born January 22, 1951 in Paris, Arkansas to Gene Dempsey and Violet Delilah Brown Hancock. He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Josh Hancock.
He is survived by his mother, Violet Hancock of Cecil; a son Cecil Hancock of Ratcliff, Arkansas; a daughter, Melinda Mayner of Ozark, Arkansas; four sisters, Rita Pruitt, Betty LaClair and Janet Gaines, all of Ozark and Pauline Brown of Cecil; four brothers, Bobby, Gary and Alan Hancock all of Cecil and Jimmie Hancock of Van Buren, Arkansas; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Eubanks Cemetery in Cecil with Brother Henry Pruitt officiating under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. Serving as pallbearers are Bobby, Jimmie, Gary, and Alan Hancock, Andy and Ben Schaffer, Roy Sampley, Tim Howe and Shawn Fortenberry.
Open viewing will be held from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Friday, September 11th at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark.
In lieu of flowers, donations toward the cost of funeral expenses may be made at Shaffer Funeral Home, (479-667-4147), P.O. Box 680, Ozark, Arkansas 72949.
