Mr. Robert Terrell Manning, Sr., age 78, of Glen St. Mary, Florida died Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospice, Jacksonville, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Manning was a lifelong resident of Macclenny, Florida. He worked as a diesel mechanic for over 25 years with Taylor Diesel, Jacksonville, Florida and also retired as a school crossing guard with the Baker County Sheriff’s Department. He attended the Macclenny Church of Christ, was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and loved camping, traveling and watching the history channel. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Hargroves Manning and his first wife, Dana B. Manning. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn R. Manning of Glen St. Mary, Florida: two children, Kelly (Doyle) Boatwright of Port S. Lucie, Florida: his son, Robert “Terry” (Carrie) Manning, Jr. of Sevierville, Tennessee: three step-children, Rosa Wilson of Macclenny, Florida, Pam (Bubba) Harris of Taylor, Florida and Grover (Mandy) Rhoden of Folkston, Georgia: one brother, Vernon Manning of Glen St. Mary, Florida: Ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Manning will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, Sept. 11, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, Florida with Minister Sam Kitchens of the Macclenny Church of Christ officiating and assisted by Rev. Neil Griffis, Pastor of the Cross Roads to Victory Church. Pallbearers include 7 grandsons, Colby Rhoden, Clint Rhoden, Nathan Harrell, Cameron Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Kalieb Waldon and Chase Rhoden. Interment will be in South Prong Cemetery, Sanderson, Florida. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, Sept 10
