Born in North Caldwell, N.J., Mrs. Burns lived in Cedar Grove and then moved to East Hanover where she resided for many years.
She was employed with the West Caldwell Board of Education as a bus driver for the Crane’s Mill School.
Mrs. Burns was a member of the First Baptist Church of Caldwell for over 80 years, a volunteer at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston for 30 years, and a member of the East Hanover Senior Citizens Club. She was also a member of the Newcomers Club of East Hanover.
She was the beloved wife of 72 years to Richard Burns; loving mother of Robert Burns and his wife, Donna Burns, and Betty Wagner, and cherished grandmother of six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Ruth Gibson, siblings, Betty Leonard and Arthur Gibson Jr. and son-in-law, Robert Wagner.
