Gloucester - Claudius Hall Kemp, 79, a retired automobile and lawnmower mechanic, died Friday in a Newport News nursing home.
He was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church, the Men's Bible Class there and had been a member of Gloucester Post No. 75 of the American Legion for more than 50 years. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include two sisters, Miss Alice Elizabeth Kemp of Gloucester and Mrs. O. H. Shackelford of Baltimore, Md.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Bridges Funeral Home by the Rev. Randolph Rilee of Bellamy United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Bellamy Church Cemetery.
