Janice M. Acosta, 83, of Superior, died Monday, September 7, 2020, at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 31, 1937, in Duluth the daughter of Florence (Bolin) and Einar Sohlstrom.

Janice was a terminal superintendent at Murphy Oil for many years and before working and retiring from BFI (Waste Management).

She was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Janice was a double breast cancer survivor and had a sweet tooth. She enjoyed bowling, going to Black Bear Casino, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Duane and Dennis Sohlstrom; and first husband, Jack ‘John’ Carlson.

Janice is survived by her children: Jeffrey (Terri) Carlson and Jacquelyn (Joe) Marzan; grandchildren: Jeremy (Amber) Carlson, Matt (Sierra) Wicklund, Katelynn (Kevin) Polak, Allysa (Alvin) Wicklund, Janae Marzan, Joey Marzan, and Jedi Marzan; many great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Ellison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Superior
