Robert Lee Cherry, age 88, of Allendale, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 7, 2020.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bob served with the US Army in the Korean War for two years, and then worked for American Seating for over 40 years, and Herman Miller for seven years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 sweet years, June, and daughter, Barbara Ammeraal.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Wayne and Sandee Cherry, Nancy and Steve Kempker, Warren and Carol Cherry; grandchildren, Regina and Adam MacMillan, Andrea and Jacob Elenbaas, Ashley and Kyle Feenstra, Leah Kempker, Andrew Ammeraal, Jenna and Logan Thimm, and Adam Cherry; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 1 pm at Ottawa Reformed Church, 11390 Stanton St., West Olive, with Rev. Michael Van Buren and Pastor Bob Searles officiating. Burial Olive Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Holland.
