Linda grew up on the Family Farm growing broom corn and raising cattle. You could only imagine being raised with 9 Brothers and sisters and some cousins that were her same age. Her days were most often spent with her life friend Glenna Searcy. These two have been inseparable up until the last breath. Now there are things about her childhood days that will most like never be told, each and every day was special as long as she had her Glenna near or far.
Linda attend elementary school at Antioch and then High School and graduated from Elmore City, Oklahoma. She married Larry McCurley her senior year and after 21 years they divorced. They had 2 children Kim Rana and Donnie. When she retired to be able to care for her mother she retired as what she called a “Jack of all trades”. She had went to cosmetology school graduated and then operated a small shop in Pauls Valley. Some of her other most memorable jobs where she met some life long friends included selling Avon, Elmore City Grocery store, the Cafe in Antioch, the Eula Mud Disposal and of course the Garvin County Vet. She then retired at age 62 to care for her mom. Linda was always working on a project of some sort, hobbies that often helped to make a little extra play money. She would raise baby calves, sew, quilt, paint, wood working, gardening, fishing and cooking. Many know of her famous tamales and crime pies and fried pies. Family and friends was her love. She so loved her grand babies and taking them fishing and anything else outdoors. Everyone that knew Linda also knew not to call her during an OU football game, that was something she refused to talk during the game. Linda enjoyed watch the OKC Thunder Games with her cousin Mary.
