In 1948, Andrew led the Durfee Hilltoppers to win the New England Basketball Championship before a packed crowd of 14,000 in the Boston Garden, and later in life he was inducted into the Durfee High School Hall of Fame. He later played for the Washington Generals and in 2009 as the star center, number 22, he was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame.
